Technological development versus natural environment

In the process of human development, the presence of science and technology are inseparable. The continuous innovation of science and technology has brought convenience to social life, but at the same time, it has also brought adverse effects on the environment. As a member of modern society, it is obliged to protect Environment, to achieve ecological balance. However, everything has a favorable and unfavorable side as is true for science and technology development. On the one hand, science and technology are changing people’s living environment and their activity and leading to the protection of ecological imbalance in some areas, endangered animals and plants. On the other hand, conversely, it wouldn’t. Then why are we continuously developing technology? Since ancient times, humans have been using technology in everyday life. Technologies play a major role in the revolution of human beings. If human beings didn’t develop technology, we wouldn’t have sophisticated minds today. Therefore, the bond between science and technology is inseparable for the entire society. As far as I am concerned, I support technological development for a couple of reasons because I appreciate the accomplishment that technology made possible.

First, in the new era of development, science and technology are the primary productive forces for economic development and creation. With the continuous progress of society, science and technology have become the driving force of the economy, and various countries are also constantly promoting technological innovation, using science and technology to promote the economic progress of the entire country. In my country, it is not vigorously supported and not put forward to promote the development of science and technology. Maybe it is the answer to why our country does not have progress in the economy. Society needs the support of science and technology. Technology has been one part of human life and works for a long time.

Second, science and technology will not only promote social and economic development but also protect the ecological environment. Reasonable use of science and technology can improve the ecological environment. Conversely, excessive or inappropriate use of these technologies eventually led to ecological imbalance and environmental determinate. For example, the use of science and technology in agriculture has indeed increased agricultural output in a short period of time, allowing the survival of the entire society, but in the long run, agricultural technology such as pesticides and fertilizers used on agricultural products will affect water quality and soil. In addition, the excessive use of pesticides to kill pests also jeopardizes the production of beneficial insects. In contrast, if we use appropriate and eco-friendly technology it could improve the ecological environment positively. For example, in air pollution, we can use science and technology to compensate for the carbon dioxide and dust content in the environment, which means the technology can help people to live without air pollution. The emergence of climate change, scarcity and waste of resources, and other issues have all been improved by using science and technology. The use of science and technology can allow mankind to reduce the demand for natural, explore new resources in science and technology such as a greenhouse for growing vegetables under artificial light, and improve the needs of the entire society.

In summary, as the economy continues to develop, mankind needs to recognize the beneficial and unfavorable effects of science and technology on the entire society. The environment is where mankind depends for survival. If mankind uses science and technology excessively or inappropriately, it will only lead to the destruction of the environment and ultimately affect the survival and development of mankind. The earth's environment and mankind are a whole. Mankind needs to use science and technology to improve environmental problems instead of using science and technology to create more environmental pollution. Therefore, it is necessary for human beings to use science and technology rationally. We have to constantly improve technology and make it as environmentally friendly as possible since we can not stop the degradation of the natural environment and technological development.
